Day 01: Arrive Kochi / Palakkad (Approx. 154 Kms / 3 Hrs)
Your Gems of Nilgiri Tour Package will start when you arrive at Kochi Airport. Our representative will meet you and directly transfer to the important pilgrim centre of India, the Palakkad Check-in to Palakkad Hotel on arrival. Rest of the day at leisure Overnight stay at Hotel.

Day 02: Palakkad
After Early Breakfast, Proceed for a visit to Silent Valley National park& Rubber and cocoa Plantations. Silent Valley national park & Rubber with an area of 90 sq km is located in the Northeastern corner of Palakkad district. It rises abruptly to the Nilgiri Plateau in the North and overlooks the plains of Mannarkkad in the South. Extremely fragile, a unique preserve of tropical evergreen rain forests which is a veritable nursery of flora and fauna, some of which are found nowhere else in the world. The valley has a fair representation of all peninsular mammals. They are lion – tailed macaque, Nilgiri langur, bonnet macaque, tiger, leopard (Panther), leopard cat, fishing act, common palm civet, Porcupine, wild boar, sambar, spotted deer, barking deer, mouse deer, gore and elephant. You also visit to Rubber and cocoa Plantations; you may get a chance to learn and participate in cocoa processing in a nearby factory. A guided tour of the plantation will familiarize you with tropical spices, rubber, cocoa production and their primary processing. The 100 acre plantation has quite a few trails for you to explore by foot or bicycle. Evening at leisure, Overnight stay at Palakkad.

Day 03: Palakkad / Pollachi (Approx. 55 Kms / 1 Hr)
After breakfast, you will drive to Pollachi Check-in to Resort/Homestay on arrival. Relax for a while and proceed for the sightseeing. After Lunch, visit Aliyar Kunadlini Ashram – the home of the Vethathiri Maharishi Kunadlini Yoga and Kayakalpa Research Foundation, founded by Shri Vethathiri Maharishi in 1985. In a beautiful natural setting at the foothills of the Western Ghats and in view of the Aliyar reservoir Vethathiri Maharishi Institute for Spiritual and In tuitional Education is a unique Institution which provides residential spiritual education. The Temple is an architectural beauty, built in the shape of vernacular OM and so it is known as Omkara Mandapam. Later visit Masani Amman Temple the sanctified shrine attracts large number of devotees. Here, one can see Goddess Masani Amman in the lying posture. The idol has four hands, two hands placed on the ground, two hands raised above. While the top left hands hold a skull and snake and other two hands holding drum and a trident. Also pay a visit to The Pollachi Market – The Jaggery Market in Pollachi is Asia’s biggest Jaggery Market. Overnight stay at Hotel/Resort/Homestay.

Day 04: Pollachi / Coonoor (Approx. 120 Kms / 2 Hrs)/ Ooty by Toy Train: 1630 1745 Hrs
After breakfast, drive to Coonoor, upon arrival transfer to Coonoor railway station to board toy train for Ooty Nilgiri Mountain Toy train Covering a distance of 46 km in around 5 hours, the Nilgiri Mountain Railway takes you from Mettupalayam to Ootacamund or Ooty. This is a truly amazing journey that takes you from a height of 1069 feet to 7228 feet. The rack section of the line, from Kallar to Coonoor (elevation 1,712 m). There are 208 curves and 13 tunnels, and 27 viaducts. The Kallar Bridge over the River Bhawani, the Adderley Viaduct and the Burliar Bridge are examples of such composite bridges. Here, the railway climbs through almost uninhabited, tropical jungle. A stretch of 18 km runs through a landscape with dominant eucalyptus and acacia forest. The railway continues to climb across the Nilgiris until it reaches the summit, just before the terminus of Udagamandalam at 2,203 m.The history of the train can be traced back to the times when it was very difficult to reach Udhagamandalam – as Ooty was called in those days. Travellers needed to ride on a horse back or carried on ‘dollies’ through a forested path to reach Ooty. Arrive Udagamandalam Station, and transfer to your Resort/Homestay.

Day 05: Ooty
After breakfast, proceed for sightseeing of hill station and around visiting; Botanical Gardens, Lambs Rock & Ooty Lake etc are covered in this trip. Botanical Gardenone of the best tourist attraction places which attract the tourist from all over the world. This garden was laid out In 1847 by the Marquis of Tweedale and is spread over 22 hectares ascending the slopes on the hill at an elevation of 2,400 meters above Main Sea Level. Afternoon at leisure near the famous Ooty lake, Ooty Lake is a popular destination for picnicking, paddle boating and enjoying Ooty leisurely. Built in 1825, it is a 2.5-kilometre long lake meandering through the scenic beauty of the Nilgiris. One can enjoy boating in the lake (optional). Lamb’s Rock is a tourist spot in Coonoor, Tamil Nadu. It is located at a distance of 8 kilometers from Coonoor. It has a spectacular view of the Coimbatore plains, tea estates and coffee estates on the slopes of the Nilgiri Hills.Overnight at Ooty.

Day 06: Ooty / Coorg (Madikeri) (Approx. 255 Kms / 5 Hrs)
After breakfast, drive to Madikeri – The enchanting fragrance of coffee. The aroma of fresh cardamom, Black pepper and Coorg honey. The holy river Cauvery. The air is noticeably cool. It is perhaps, this climate and hilly terrain of Coorg, that inspired the British to occupy this area for over 100 years and they called it as Scotland of India, Overnight at Coorg.

Day 07: Coorg
Today you will visit Dubare elephant camp, enjoy in interactive activities like Elephant bathing and training followed by an elephant ride in the Jungle. You can not only observe and learn, alsoparticipate in various activities involving Elephants. The Elephants for the famous Mysore Dasara were trained at Dubare elephant camp. Overnight at Coorg.

Day 08: Coorg / Kasargod (Approx. 125 Kms / 2 Hrs)
Today you will, drive to Kasargod known as the land of Yekshgana and Theyyams. There are different views on the derivation of the name “Kasargod. One view is that it is the combination of two Sanskrit words “kaasaara”(which means lake or pond) and kroda (which means a place where treasure is kept). Another view is that it is the place where Kaasaraka trees (Strychnos nux vomica or Kaanjiram or Kaaraskara) are in abundance. Bothe views are relevant as there are large number of rivers, lakes and ponds in the coastal belt of the district besides thick flora consisting of innumerable varieties of trees, shribs etc. Particularly plentitude of Kaasaraka trees. Overnight at Kasargod.

Day 09: Kasargod
Day at leisure for independent activities at beach. Overnight at Kasargod.

Day 10: Kasargod / Valiaparamba Backwaters
After breakfast, transfer to lotus point jetty to board overnight cruise through Valiaparamba Backwaters on Houseboat The Lotus, a two bedroom rice barge offering serene comfort and exquisite style and it offers the chance to feast senses on superb views, bird watching and the unhurried rhythms of village life. The cruise covers about 25 kms of the valiparamba Backwater, with several Enroute visits to the Snake Temple, dedicated to goddess Bhadrakali, a delightful spot with many bright carvings scared to the local Fishing community. Later on cruise, visit Valiayaparamba village, a long strip of land between the backwater and the open sea. Here colored houses can be seen peeping through the dense fringe of coconut palms that lines the water front. Village is known for its coir industry. The Backwater has four times a day, hence different depth of water and stuble changes of mood. The further south you cruise quitter the scene becomes, the cruise ends with a visit to Monkey Island. A short walk to an ancient shine dedicated to Naga snake deities. Back to the Lotus for evening tea and homemade cakes and another 20 minutes of cruising before we anchor in the middle of lake for overnight. End of the day watching evening birds and fishing canoes return home for the night from lotus elevated deck and enjoy the sunset with a drink before a Kerala cuisine dinner under canopy of stars.Overnight stay at Homestay.

Day 11: Backwaters / Sultan Canal / Wayanad (Approx. 140 Kms / 3 Hrs) The day begins with bead tea followed by breakfast on board. Then we cruise south for an hour, we reach kotti Jetty. Proceed for a 3 kms ride to the shrine of Lord Subramanyam, second son of Lord Shiva in Payyannur, a town famed all over India for its expertise in the sacred science of Astrology. The Shrine dates backs about 800 AD. Is known for its architecture. The silver Image of the deity is being processed three times daily around the temple compound.Back to the houseboat, continue cruising for an hour and we reach Sultan Canal, constructed by Tipu Sultan, known as the tiger of Mysore. Disembark at the jetty and drive to Wayanad. Overnight at wayanad

Day 12: Wayanad
After breakfast, visit Edakkal caves known for its Neolithic caves, the new Stone Age pictorial writings on the walls of these natural caves at Edakkal are the evidence of the civilizations that existed in the regions in the pre-historic times. The caves can be accessed only by a 1Km trekking trail from Edakkal. Also visit the Jain Temples and Tipus fort; the centre of the town there is an ancient Jain temple and this place was also used by Tipu Sulthan. The fort is no longer existing, but remaining of the Jain temple can be seen here. Entry to the Jain temple is from 8 AM to 12 Noon and again from 2 PM to 6 PM.Return back to hotel rest of the day is leisure for independent activities in and around hotelovernight stay at Wayand

Day 13: Wayanad / Calicut (Approx. 85 Kms / 2 Hrs)
Breakfast at hotel, drive to Calicut Upon arrival, check in at Kodavu resort, day at leisure for independent activities Evening witness Kalari Payattu Show at Kalari Centre, Kalaripayyatu is an ancient form of Martial arts and foremore of all martial arts.Overnight at Calicut.

Day 14: Departure
After breakfast, transfer in time to airport to board flight for onward journey.
