Jomsom Muktinath Trek
Jomsom Muktinath Trek is perfect blend of pilgrimage and adventure trekking trail in Annapurna in Annapurna region. Where you will see with different spectacular Himalayan views including Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri Dhampus peak, Machhapuchhure and some other more. Jomsom and Muktinath is famous pilgrimage site for Buddhists and Hindus. For Hindus Muktinath is a holy place of salvation they believe that to wash in the waters here guarantee salvation. The terrain here gradually gives way to the Tibetan plateau providing some fascinating rock formations on route. The Jomsom trek as it is commonly known is also a part of the Annapurna Circuit Trek. It begins from Pokhara and passes through the Valley of Kali Gandaki River to the pilgrim site of Muktinath. Jomsom Muktinath Trek ends to the height of 3750m in the Muktinath temple. Thus, the place is named after this temple as a Muktinath which resembles the land of Salvation. The temple is one of the most sacred places of Hindus as well as Buddhist people. Lots of devotees all over the South Asian continent make their journey to this pilgrimage site every year.

The itinerary is designed to suit from novice to expert trekkers, involving not more than 5-7 hours of walking per day and resting at perfect locations like Ghorepani, Tatopani, Kagbeni, Marpha, Jomsom and Muktinath. On your way back to Pokhara, you will be boarding an exciting domestic flight from Jomsom airport where from Pokhara we make a few hours drive through the green mountains to Kathmandu.

Day 01: Arrive Kathmandu Meet our representative at the airport and transfer to hotel. Rest at the hotel and briefing about the trip. Overnight accommodation is set with BB Plan.
Day 02: Kathmandu Sightseeing tours to Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Pashupatinath, Bodhanath Stupa.
First you will visit the overwhelming Pahsupatinath temple, which is the holiest Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Then you visit Boudhanath Stupa, the biggest Buddhist stupa architecture of 7th century, a must go pilgrimage site for Buddhist people in their lifetime. You will finish this exciting day of sightseeing with a visit of Bhaktapur, which is the best-preserved medieval Malla Kingdom. Overnight hotel in Kathamandu
Day 03: Pokhara Early morning flight to Pokhara. Be sure to catch right side of the airplane for the best views of Himalayas. Pokhara offers magnificent views of the Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, Machhapuchhare, five peaks of Annapurna range and others. Numerous lakes of Pokhara offer fishing, boating and swimming, the city itself is popular as city of lakes.Rest of the Day is Leisure . Overnight at Pokhara.
Day 04: Fly Jomsom Trek to Kagabeni After Breakfast, early morning fly toJomsomwhere you will be transferred from Pokhara.
Jomsom also known as the cold desert also known as New Fort, is a town located at altitude of 2800m in Mustang, Nepal extends over banks of the Kali Gandaki River. A trail passes through the Lower Mustang region of Nepal, ending at the village of Kagbeni, a Tibetan influenced village filled with prayer wheels, shortens and a Buddhist monastery. The trail follows the Kali Gandaki River which forms the deepest ravine in the world; on one side lies the Annapurna Mountain range and on the other side are Dhaulagiri. Between the two ranges, there are views of 8 of the 20 highest mountains in the world.The scenery of the trail ranges from forests of brilliant red rhododendrons to rocky cliffs and desert. The culture along the track is a rich mixture of Hindu and Tibetan Buddhism. The trail’s highest point is Muktinath at 3800 m, a holy site of temples sacred to both Buddhists and Hindus for centuries.Overnight at Kagabeni.
Day 05: Kagabeni to Muktinath Our journey starts with a special permit check up and onwards to the riverbank of Kaligandaki up stream. During the walk we will have scenic picturesque places to stop by. From Kagbeni the path climbs steeply to re-join the direct trail leading to Khingar at 3200m. The trail climbs through a desert landscape till Jarkot Village. A further climb reaches us to Muktinath.overnight at Muktinath
Day 06: Muktinath to Jomsom Muktinath is one of most important destination for Hindus pilgrimage.Early morning we visit the Muktinath Temple of the Lord Vishnu. For the Hindus, the region is a “Muktikhsetra”or the region of liberation or salvation. Also enjoy the magnificent views of Dhaulagiri peak from Muktinath. Muktinath itself demonstrates the religions harmony in Nepal. There are water spouts channeled for the stream running above the temple. There is also a Buddhist Monastery nearby. From Muktinath, we continue back to Jomsom.overnight at Jomsom
Day 07: Jomsom to Kalopani Trek down to Kalopani 7 hours walking through Kali Gandaki Valley .During the trail we will cross Thakali houses. From Kalopani Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Mountains are visible on the way. Overnight stay at a hotel.
Day 08: Kalopani to Tatopani A beautiful walk, with another transition into sub-tropical vegetation and the return of water buffalo, banyan trees and poinsettias. The trail follows the river through a narrow gorge, and descends to cross a bridge near a spectacular waterfall, before winding through the valley to Tatopani. The hot water springs that give the village its name provide the perfect opportunity for a good ‘scrub.
Day 09: Tatopani to Ghorepani (2793m) The trail climbs up while you start to walk to get to Ghorepani. It takes about 6 to 8 hours to get to Ghorepani. On the way to Ghorepani you can see the whole Annapurna range, the narrow gorge of Kali gandaki and typical Magar houses. You can get numerous cultural knowledge and lifestyles of the Magar people on the way to Ghorepani.
Day 10: Ghorepani to Hile After Breakfast, Trek to hile. Overnight stay at Hile.
Day 12: Hile to Nayapul/Pokhara Trek Back to Pokhara 4 hours walking downhill to Nayapul then drive back to Pokhara one hour by Private car/van. Overnight stay at a hotel.
Day 13: Pokhara we make use of the rest afternoon for discovering the beautiful Pokhara valley leisurely. While we walk along the bank of Fewa Lake, a second biggest lake of Nepal, we cannot stop admiring the state of Fish Tail Mountain reflecting in the lake. We can also take a boat around the Fewa Lake or just can take an hour’s walk to the World Peace Pagoda. Evening time, we spend exploring around the lakeside. Overnight at hotel.
Day 14: Pokhara to Kathmandu Today, after breakfast, drive back to Kathmandu. Enjoy the scenery through the route. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you will be transferred to your hotel. You can spend the evening leisurely; perhaps catch up on some last minute shopping.To celebrate thesuccessful completion of our journey, we will have a farewell dinner in the evening.Overnight at Kathmandu.
Day 15: Departure We take you to the airport for your flight time. We hope you enjoyed the trek, and are sure you will be back trekking somewhere in the Himalaya again. Approximately 3 hours before your scheduled flight a representative from Plan Holidays will take you to the airport. You are saying good bye to the mountains as your journey in Nepal comes to an end today.
