Ladakh is a paradise for trekkers with plenty of opportunities to fit all adventurers and nature enthusiasts. The trek starts from Darcha, accessible by 6 hours drive from Manali. Walking to the forbidden land is really a dream come true. Trek along the Indus river and experience the tour of local monasteries allowing you to relish various aspects of Ladakhi culture. Ladakh-Zanskar are very adventurous, joy and amazing. It is 22 days high altitude adventures trek, crossing the numerous passes. Trekking in Ladakh-Zanskar are very adventurous, joy, and amazing. The highest pass in this route is Shingo La at 5090m. In the trekking you can also visit local family, Amchi (local Doctor),Cultural and traditional dance, visiting Monestaries etc.

Ladakh-Zanskar

After a day at leisure in Purai, we continue the walk for another 13 days to reach Lamayuru crossing Pass and beautiful view of the Inner Himalayan from where you will drive to Leh-the capital town of Ladakh.

Highlight of Ladakh-Zanskar :

  • Darcha to Palmo. Lovely village at Chika and Rarik.
  • Palmo to Zanskar Sumdo. River crossing on a rope-bridge later in the day. Camp at riverbank for overnight.
  • Zanskar Sumdo to Chumik Nakpo. Lovely sight and good view of the south peak.
  • Chumik Nakpo to Lakhong. You will be quite difficult with few ups and downs and finally over the Shingo La ( 5090m). Overlooking the beautiful valley. Easy Overnight camping in the Zanskar region.
  • Lakhong to Kargiakh. Easier march over the terrain in 3 hours. Encounter the first village in Zanskar region at 4000 meters. Stream crossing involved in the morning walk.
  • Kargiakh to Purni. Take opportunity to shoot pictures among the villagers while crossing Kuru village. River crossing at your right path. Narrow climbing before reaching Purni.
  • Purni to Phuktal Gompa and back while the crews take leisure we advance towards Phuktal Gompa perched high on the cliff. Back at camp warm yourself with hot soup. Rest of the day at leisure.
  • Purni to Mune 25 Km. Follow the river from the confluence till you reach Surle. If you feel like continue till the old monastery at Mune. Stay overnight at the Monastery.
  • Mune to Padum. Mild walking on the wide tracks for 5 hours take a glimpse of the Red hat Sect at the Bardan Gompa. Camping at Shilla.
  • Shila to Karsha Gompa.Tread on wide road for sometime before river crossing by Rope Bridge. Camping at the Karsha Gompa. If time favors, visit the Karsha gompa.
  • Karsha to Pishu. Easy walk on wide track. To the right of your path good view of Zangla village, where once the king of Zangla lived. Camping at the riverside.
  • Pishu to Hanumil. Average walk on ups and down terrain. 11 km. Pass by Pigmu village.
  • Hanumil to Snertse 10km. Walk on average, crossing the Purfi La-Pass in between.
  • Snertse to Lingshed 7 hours walking in all. Stop for lunch after crossing the Hanuma La (4950m). Camp close to few local inhabitants.
  • Tried trekkers may take rest after visiting the largest monastery in the area.Trek from Lingshed to base of Shingi La (5060m), 14 km
  • Shingi La to Photesker 12m walking. Trek over the pass.
  • Photeksarr to Hanupatta. Over the Sirsir La ( 4850m) to Hanupatta.
  • Wanla to Lamayuru. 7 km walking. From here drive to Leh, the administrative capital of Ladakh.

Day 24: Trek from Wanla to Lamayuru.7 km walking. From here drive to Leh, the administrative capital of Ladakh. On arrival in Leh, check into Hotel
Day 25: Sightseeing of Leh
Day 26: Flight to Delhi
Day 27: Transfer to airport for departure

Day 01: Arrival in Delhi. Transfer to Hotel for refreshment. Afternoon City tour. In the late afternoon, take bus to Manali.

Day 02: Arrival in Manali in the late morning. Full day acclimatization in Manali.

Day 03: Drive to Darcha by car or coach. Distance 160 kms. Overnight at camp.

Day 04: Trek from Darcha to Palmo. 2- hour walk. Slightly steep at the starting but gradually it becomes easier there after. Lovely village at Chika and Rarik.

Day 05: Trek from Palmo to Zanskar Sumdo.Covers 11 kms in 3 hours walk. River crossing on a rope-bridge later in the day. Camp at riverbank for overnight.

Day 06: Trek from Zanskar Sumdo to Chumik Nakpo. 15 kms. Walk in 3 hours. Lunch at the foot of the Pass. Lovely sight and good view of the south peak.

Day 07: Trek from Chumik Nakpo to Lakhong. Todays trek will be quite difficult with few ups and downs and finally over the Shingo La ( 5090m) in 2 hours time. Lunch break at the peak of the pass overlooking the beautiful valley. Easy descending in another 2 hours time. Overnight camping in the Zanskar region.

Day 08: Trek from Lakhong to Kargiakh. Easier march over the terrain in 3 hours. Encounter the first village in Zanskar region at 4000 meters. Stream crossing involved in the morning walk.

Day 09: Trek from Kargiakh to Purni.Take opportunity to shoot pictures among the villagers while crossing Kuru village. River crossing at your right path. Narrow climbing before reaching Purni.

Day 25: Sightseeing of Leh.

Day 26: Flight to Delhi.

Day 27: Transfer to airport for departure.
