Day 01: Kathmandu Valley Today we explore the ancient and medieval temples, stupas, monasteries, arts and architecture of Kathmandu valley. Pashupatinath Temple on the bank of sacred Bagmati River is the most celebrated Hindu Temple in Kathmandu valley. Just 20 minutes ride past Pashupatinath Temple stands the glorious Boudhanath Stupa, which is the biggest one of this type in the world. From here, you ride back to the Ring Road and head to Budhanilkantha shrine of Lord Vishnu, which is a 6-meter long stone statue lying on water pool. From here, you will go to Swayambhunath Stupa known as Monkey Temple. This Stupa is 2000 years old and stands on a hillock, which offers excellent view of the valley. From here you will ride back to your hotel.
Day 02: Kathmandu- Nakhu- Bungmati-Chobhar- Champagaon- Kathmandu The day begins with a ride to Patan, visit the zoo and Tibetan Refugee Center. Continue on to the ring road and cross it heading south on a dirt road. We enter a village called Nakhu with good vantage spots for scenic views. We follow the road towards Bungmati, go down a steep rocky section that takes through rice fields. We continue straight for an off-road adventure, down across the Bagmati and up the other site to return via Chobhar gorge where we visit Jal Vinayak Temple. From here, we follow a forested climb to the village- Champi, overlooking the south- western corner of the valley. A combination of downhill push and uphill carry brings us to Chapagaon and Lele from where we ride back to Kathmandu through numerous Newari villages.
Day 03: Kathmandu-LubhuLakurebhanjyang-Panauti- Dhulikhel We ride away from the chaos of Kathmandu Valley and head to Lubhu, a Newari town that is famous for its hand weave cloths. We climb from 1350 till 2140 to Lakure Bhanjyang where we can enjoy a nice view of Kathmandu Valley. We bike down along the river to Panauti, another historic Newari town at 1447m. From here we descend on the paved road untill Dhulikhel at 1453m and we stay one night here in this superb panoramic place.
Day 04: Dhulikhel- Namobuddha- Dhulikhel Today we bike off the road. We pass by the village Phoolbari and hike to Namobuddha, a famous Buddhist pilgrimage site. According to the legend, Lord Buddha in his former life lived here as a prince and offered his flesh to a hungry tigress. A small stupa and stone image marks the site of actual sacrifice. From here, we ride back to Dhulikhel for overnight stay.
Day 05: Dhulikhel- Bhkatapur- Nagarkot After breakfast, we follow the paved road to Bhakatapur, one of the three Malla principality of medieval Kathmandu valley, then known as Nepal. Bhaktapur has well preserved its cultural heritages and maintained originality. The Golden Gate to the palace of 55 windows is regarded as the master piece metal work in the valley. The intricate woodcarvings in five storied Nyatapol temple and Peacock window of Pujarimath Complex are noticeable. Besides, the old houses and the lifestyle of Newari people remind us of medieval era. From Bhaktapur,we head northeast to Nagarkot which is 20 km from Bhaktapur and at an altitude of 2200m from the sea level. We bike along the narrow, paved road carved out of the hills with terraced fields and pine vegeteraions. We stay overnight in Nagrkot.
Day 06: Nagarkot-Sankhu- Kathmandu The morning rewards us with a beautiful sunrise view over the Himalayas. After breakfast, we paddle down to the river and then up to Kattiki. We continue onwards with a heavy workout on hands and brakes. As we enter Sankhu Village, we leave our bikes down and climb up stairs to visit the shrine of Tantrik Goddess Vajrayogini venerated equally by Buddhist and Hindus. From Sankhu, we pass Gokarna Safari Park and via Boudhanth we ride back to Kathmandu.
Day 07: Kathmandu- Daman (80 km) The thrills of bike ride begin today. After leaving Kathmandu valley, the road descends 27 km down to Naubise, a roadside bazaar from where we take the road, which forks, to the left. This is Tribhuwan Highway, which was only the link between Kathmandu and the rest of the kingdom until the construction of KTM-Mugling- Narayanghat Highway. Tribhuwan Highway is less crowded and offers splendid view of MajesticHimalayas at Daman. From Naubise, we start a 35-km climb to Tistung at 2100m, through terraced fields carved out into the steep hillsides. Across this pass, after a 7 km descent, comes a beautiful Palung Valley and again an ascent of 9 km brings you to Daman at 2300m where you will stay overnight in lodge or fixed tents.
Day 08: Daman- Hetauda This morning, if you are lucky the weather will be very clear to offer you the sparking view of a wide range of Himalayas from Dhaulagiri in the west to Mt. Everest in the east. Daman has its reputation as the best hill station in Nepal for the best view of majesticHimalayas. After breakfast, you will descend 60 km down along the oak and rhododendron bush until you reach Hetauda, one of the industrial cities of Nepal.
Day 09: Hetauda-Chitwan From here, you will head towards west along the broad Mahendra Highway, also called East-West Highway. You will come across different inhabitation and sub tropical scenery to Tandi Bazaar from where, you will be picked up and transferred to jungle camp of Chitwan National Park. Dinner and overnight stay in camp/ bungalow.
Day 10: Jungle Safari activities Today, you will be quite busy with jungle safari activities. In the morning after breakfast, you will go for river tour on a traditional dug out cannoe in order to explore the aquatic life of Chitwan National Park. Besides focusing kingfishers, lapwings, storks, goose, mergansers etc with your binoculars, you may also have chance to discover the Gharial crocodile taking sun bask on the sand bank which you may mistaken for a wooden log. After the cannoe trip, you can explore on foot the flora and fauna of the park. In the afternoon, you will again go in the park on elephant in search of Rhino, Leopards, sloth bears, 4 species of deer, monkeys, wild boar, birds and of course, the Royal Bengal Tiger if you are lucky. In the evening, there will be cultural programs performed by Tharu tribal people. Overnight in camp/ bungalow.
Day 11: Chitwan Bhairahawa (90 km) The distance is very large but road is in good condition. We follow the Mahendra Highway also known as East- West highway. We come across many roadside bazaars and weekly markets and will have opportunity to witness the life of people living in Terai. Bhairahawa is an industrial city from where Indian boarder is just 3 kilometers.
Day 12: Bhairahawa- Lumbini- Bhairahawa (22+ 22 km) Today we make a pilgrimage tour to Lord Buddhas birthplace called Lumbini. An Ashokan pillar with an inscription stands there at the very palace to mark the spot. In the side is a pool where queen Maya Devi took bath before she gave birth to Siddartha Gautam “Buddha”. You will see the ruins of ancient monastery nearby the pillar. You will ride back to Bhairahawa for your overnight stay.
Day 13: Bhairahawa- Tansen (65 km) We ride along Siddartha Highway, named after Lord Buddha. A gradual climb of 41 kilometer brings us to Tansen at 1343m. Tansen is one of the most beautiful places in Nepal and is worth visiting. From Tansen, we can enjoy a magnificent Himalayan panorama view.
Day 14: Tansen- Pokhara (117) We continue our ride on the Siddartha Highway along the river. When you feel that, you are exhausted you will catch bus or supporting vehicle will pick you up and bring to Pokhara.
Day 15:Biking Tours in Pokhara. After breakfast, the biking tour commences. The surrounding area of Pokhara, calm and pollution free, provides an excellent opportunity for trail riding. Biking destinations are Mahendra Cave in Batulechaur village, Davis fall and Cave of Gupteshwor Mahadev in Chhorepatan, Tibetan villages etc. It is fun riding along the banks of Phewa Lake. You can also go, 15 km east, to Rupa and Begnas Taals (Lakes), which are second and third largest lakes, after Phewa Lake in Pokhara Valley. These lakes, despite being so near, are visited by quite few tourists. You will come back to your hotel in Pokhara fore overnight stay.
Day 16: Pokhara- Naudanda. Today you will ride to Sarangkot and further to Naudanda, which is an excellent trip. You have to leave hotel early and first ride along lakeside, towards the mountains to the intersection with Manaswora road. Continue straight on to the north. You will continue until you join the trail heading up an extremely steep spiral to Sarangkot. Sarangkot has splendid view of Annapurna South, Dhaulagiri, AnnapurnaI, Machhapuchre and other peaks. From Sarangkot, take left towards Naudanda along the spine of the ridge before joining the Pokhara- Baglung Highway which connects Pokhara with Lumle. Overnight lodge in Naudanda(1600m).
Day 17: Naudanda- Nayapul Today you bike downhill along the tranquil but snaking motor able road of Pokhara Baglung Highway with spectacular view Of Himalayan panorama in the right and steep down slope ending to the river in the left. You reach to Nayapul in the afternoon and have lunch and ride back to Pokhara.
Day 18: Pokhra- Mugling we leave Pokhra and bike down through roadside bazaars like Dumre and Damauli. We further ride to Mugling, the junction of Kathmandu- Narayngarh road and Kathmandu- Pokhara highway. Overnight in Lodge.
Day 19: Mugling- Kathmandu we continue our ride along the emerald green Trishuli River till Simapni. At Naubise, we will climb with spectacular views on the Ganesh Himal mountain chain. From Nagdhunga, we paddle down to the valley and arrive In Kathmandu.
Day 20: Transfer to Airport for departure.
