Day01: Kathmandu to Nagarkot via Bhaktapur
(Distance: 39 km, altitude gain: 700m)
After an early breakfast, we set out to Bhaktapur- one of the medieval principalities of Kathmandu Valley. We will spend a couple of hours through the Durbar square, temples and streets of Bhaktapur to explore its hidden secrets. We exit Bhaktapur from the eastern end of the town past Datratraye Temple. From here, we head northeast to Nagarkot on an excellent, but quiet tarmac road. We take 20 kilometer gradual climb though the terraced fields, village dwellings and finally reach to the top of Nagarkot which offers magnificent view of Himalayas. We stay one night here in this superb viewpoint.

Day02: Nagarkot- Changu Narayan-Kathmandu
(Distance 35 km with altitude gain
After we pass through several rustic villages with a continuing backdrop of Himalayan views, on our way down the ridge. The trail brings us to Changu Narayan Temple, which dates back to 3-4 the century and has in its compound a pillar with an inscription, which is the first available written document in Nepalese history. We continue downhill along the winding tarmac road to Bhaktapur. After having lunch in Bhaktapur Durbar Square, we ride back to Kathmandu through the ancient Newari village called Thimi.
