This is most popular hill station very close on the eastern side of Kathmandu. We start our hike, crossing through the terraced fields, dense Tamang traditional village, with typical country side houses painted with locally found Ocher. Nagarkot is situated at 2195 m / 7200ft is a quiet and scenic hilltop about 32 km from Kathmandu, very popular as a Mountain View point. One can see the panorama of the Himalayas ranging from the Dhaulagiri in the west to Kanchanjunga in the east including Mt Everest (you will see Mt Everest only as a dot on the horizon but with a binocular you can have a good view of it).

The other ranges you will see are the Langtang, Dorje Lakpa and the Gaurishankar ranges, the Everest which will be your memorable experience. The sunrise and sunset on the Himalayas seen from this hill could be a life time memory for you. Changunarayan is Nepal oldest living monument dating back to 5th century. It is an UNESCO world heritage site.
