Tharpu Chuli Peak Climbing
Locally known as Tharphu Chuli, Tent Peak is situated in the heart of Annapurna Sanctuary and it involves a steep descent into the glacier through very rough ground among the confused mass of loose rocks of all sizes on the glacier floor. Tharpu Chuli Peak Climbing trek commences from the Lake City of Pokhara. Then need to be climbed up the other side of the glacier. The South Face Base Came of Annapurna is the finest ascent to the climbing teams, not only to the enjoying but also seeing ranges of mountain scenery.
After summiting the peak, return the same route until ABC. It is among the few snow-clad summits at this height range in Nepal. This peak offers an ideal opportunity for those who want to summit a Himalayan peak, The immense South Face of Annapurna South (7291m), situated at the head of the Annapurna South Glacier, guards the Western flank of the Sanctuary.
And right in the middle this all is Tharpu but also seeing ranges of mountain scenery. Autumn (mid Sept to mid Dec) and Spring (March to mid June) are the best seasons for the Annapurna Base camp trek and Tharpu Chuli climbing trip. The weather is sunny and warm, with outstanding views but the nights are cold and can fall to freezing in higher elevations.
From ABC, we trek down to Bamboo, Jhinudada, and Nayapul, passing by waterfalls, villages & settlements, and the rhododendron forest that bloom with red flowers during the springtime. The peak was first summited in 1964 by a Japanese group on an expedition to Annapurna South. Tharpu Chuli Peak Climbing is best suited to those who are intending to step up from trekking to amateur mountaineering.
Please remember that you should always try to keep the weight of your equipment to a minimum.
