The Chitwan Valley is an Inner Terai valley in the south of Nepal, encompassing the districts of Makwanpur, Chitwan and Nawalparasi.
The valley is part of the Terai-Duar savanna and grasslands ecoregion of about 150 km (93 mi) length and 3048 km (1930 mi) width. The Chitwan Valley is drained by the East Rapti River, which flows from the eastern Mahabharat Range into the valley near Hetauda, where it turns west and flows along the axis of the valley. About 20 km west of Hetauda the Rapti meets the eastern border of Chitwan National Park. For the next 70 km it forms a natural boundary between human settlements on its right-hand side and protected area on its left-hand side.
Chitwan National Park:
Chitwan National park having land of 932kmsq is a subtropical lowlands located in the south central Nepal,165 km awayfrom kathmandu. It is famous for the jungle safaries since 1984 when it was granted UNESCO World Heritage Site status.The Park has 70 % Sal forest ,20% Grasslands & 10 % bushes.
There are about 50 different types of grasses including Elephant grass ( Saccharum spp) could grow upto 9m in height. As regards to wildlives & birds in the park concerns, there are 68 species of Mammals, 544 species of Birds, 56 species of herpeto fauna & 126 species of fish. The park is renowned for one horned Rhinocerous, Royal Bengal Tiger & Gharial Corcodiles. Other wildlives found in the park are Wild elephant, Fourhorned antelope, Pangolin, Golden monitor lizard, Python, Bengal florican, Lesser florican, Giant hornbill, Black stork, While stork, etc.
The activities that are carried out in the packages are ELEPHANT BACK SAFARI, DUG OUT CANOING, ELEPHANT BATHING, ELEPHANT BREEDING CENTER VISIT, NATURE WALKS, JEEP SAFARIES, THARU CULTURE SHOW, BIRDWATCHING, TIGER SIGHT HUNTING depending upon the duration of the stays in the Park. Plan Holidays did a fantastic job on our whole trip! We did the trip that included time in Kathmandu, Pokhara, Chitwan National Park and a 5-day trek around Annapurna. From the moment we stepped off the plane, we had guides showing us around and everything was perfectly planned for us. Maila, our trekking guide was amazing and had so much knowledge! It was a great trip!

I had a wonderful experience
I recently booked a tour with Plan Holidays, and I had a wonderful experience. Anuja scheduled the tour, and it was comforting to have our trip covered without any concerns. Our guide Shiva took us through Kathmandu, and showed all us the highlights of the city and provided us with the cultural and historical background. We also did the Poon Hill Trek with guides Chitiz and Ashmir, who provided a peaceful hike through the Himalayas. On our last two days, we spent time in Chitwan National Park, where our guide, Robin, took us on adventures where we saw crocodiles and rhinos. The entire package was affordable, and our guides met our every need; they went out of their way for us on many occasions. It was comforting to get off the bus and see our guides waiting for us with our name tags. I would highly encourage anyone to book a trip through this company. I promise that you will have an amazing experience--five stars!
