Bardia National Park, is situated in the southern lowlands of the far west, is Nepal’s largest and most undisturbed wildlife area at Bardia District. The Park sprawls out over an area of almost 1000 sq. km. It was renamed as Royal Bardia Wildlife Reserve, which also included the Babai River Valley.
Bardia National Park is the largest and most undisturbed national park in Nepal Terai and has excellent wildlife-watching opportunities. The largest population of the magnificent Royal Bengal tigers is to be found in the largest wildlife park in the country, that is, Bardiya National Park. It is densely covered by Sal forests, riverine forests and grassland.Bardia National Park is a heaven for a wide variety of wildlife, the park was originally formed to protect the various ecosystems found in the area, and to conserve tigers and their prey.
It provides an excellent habitat for over 30 different mammal species, including the endangered Royal Bengal Tiger, One-horned Rhinoceros, Gharial Crocodile, Gangetic dolphin, Wild Elephant, Swamp deer, and Blackbuck & Great One-horned Rhinoceros.
The endangered Gangetic dolphin is often seen in its waters. Over 400 species of birds have so far been recorded in the Park, 125 Fish species while 23 are that of reptiles and amphibians. Including the endangered Bengal and Lesser Floricans, Silver-eared Mesia, and the Sarus crane.
The Bardiya National Park is an ideal destination for a jungle safari in Nepal. Around the park, a buffer zone and community forest were established to try to reduce subsistence poaching inside the park by the local communities. Bardia National Park is the largest national park and wilderness area in the Terai and has excellent wildlife-watching opportunities.

Plan Holidays did a fantastic job on our whole trip! We did the trip that included time in Kathmandu, Pokhara, Chitwan National Park and a 5-day trek around Annapurna. From the moment we stepped off the plane, we had guides showing us around and everything was perfectly planned for us. Maila, our trekking guide was amazing and had so much knowledge! I had a wonderful experience
I recently booked a tour with Plan Holidays, and I had a wonderful experience. Anuja scheduled the tour, and it was comforting to have our trip covered without any concerns. Our guide Shiva took us through Kathmandu, and showed all us the highlights of the city and provided us with the cultural and historical background. We also did the Poon Hill Trek with guides Chitiz and Ashmir, who provided a peaceful hike through the Himalayas. On our last two days, we spent time in Chitwan National Park, where our guide, Robin, took us on adventures where we saw crocodiles and rhinos. The entire package was affordable, and our guides met our every need; they went out of their way for us on many occasions. It was comforting to get off the bus and see our guides waiting for us with our name tags. I would highly encourage anyone to book a trip through this company. I promise that you will have an amazing experience--five stars!
