Familiarization Tour

On this Familiarization tour, take a step back in time for a glimpse of traditions and customs disappearing from the rest of the Himalayan world. Witness a cultural performance of masked dances combined with traditional songs, dance, and music by the Royal Dance Troupe. Bhutan, a country of deep religious background will impress you through its magic everywhere. Gigantic mountains covered with thick primeval forests, the generous and welcoming attitude of its unassuming people, who have not rejected their spiritual heritage for modern ways, are all but that make up a for a unique cultural experience. As you visit the country impressive whitewashed dzongs (fortress-monasteries that are thriving centers of worship and culture) and meet the people on hikes through the countryside, you will see how the past remains an integral part of the very vibrant present.

In this Trip, you will visit Thimpu, Punakha Dzong, Bumthang, Paro, Taktsang Monastery. Taktsang Gomba more commonly refers to as the Tigers Nest. The four hours trek offers spectacular views of this secret monastery perched on a cliff face 900m above the valley floor. Â Lunch will be served at Taktshang Cafeteri.

Thimphu, one of the culturally must see places in Bhutan, is charming capital city nestled in the Himalayas with the beautiful sights of the Chuu River flowing through it. Interestingly, it is the only city in the world with no traffic lights. Thimphu has retained its culture and old world charm as modern development is closely monitored and new buildings can be built only in Bhutanese style and up to a certain height

Paro, the foremost must see the place in Bhutan, is a gorgeous beautiful valley, surrounded by lush green rice fields. Paro is a historic town with many sacred sites and historical buildings scattered through the area. Along with Jakar and Punakha, Paro forms the golden triangle of popular tourist destinations in Bhutan. Likewise, craggy mountain hills and undisturbed serene beauty, the clean air, and peaceful atmosphere make it a must visit place in Bhutan. In Paro, Rinpung Dzong mostly attracts the visitor. Rinpung Dzong is one of the finest examples of a Bhutanese monastery. The Dzong hosts the Paro Tsechu i.e festival of masks.

Bumthang Valley, the spiritual heartland of Bhutan, is full of most ancient and precious Buddhist sites. Located at an altitude of 2,600 meters, the religious hub of Bhutan houses some of the oldest Buddhist temples. Besides, Jakar is the main town in Bumthang Valley and its undulating terrain, which is filled with apple trees and numerous temples, is a tourists delight.

Day 03 : Scenic drive over the Dochu La (10,000′) to the Punakha Valley.

Day 04 : Drive to Bumthang.

Day 05-06 : Explore the monasteries and pilgrimage sites of the Bumthang Valley.

Day 07 : Retrace much of our route across the country to Gangtey valley

Day 08 : Drive to Thimphu

Day 09 : Drive to Paro
