Overview

The Mustang region occupies the southern fringes of the Tibetan plateau and is dominated by Himalayan peaks such as Annapurna and Dhaulagiri. It is formerly the Kingdom of Lo, is a remote and isolated region of the Nepalese Himalayas.

This classic and rewarding trek takes us to the border of one of the most remote kingdoms on earth, within a reasonable timeframe and without ascending to extreme altitude. Life in Mustang revolves around tourist animal husbandry and trade. Trekking in this region is an adventure in wonderland. Astonishing altitude variations and ecological diversity make this area overflow with natural beauty.

Most of the population of Mustang lives near the Kali Gandaki River, 2800 3900 m above sea level. The tough conditions cause a large winter migration into lower regions of Nepal Trek across sacred valleys surrounded by enormous peaks and encounter people from diverse ethnic backgrounds who have carved a lifestyle out of the steep terraces and barren plateaus of the area for thousands of years. Visit the overwhelming Pashupatinath temple, which is the holiest Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva.

Then you visit Boudhanath Stupa, the biggest Buddhist stupa architecture of the 7th century, a must go pilgrimage site for Buddhist people in their lifetime. Witness the breathtaking views from Poon Hill, experience the hot natural springs in Tatopani and encounter Tibetan traders as you trek to the pilgrimage center of Muktinath, where Buddhists and Hindus alike make the spiritual journey.
